Bone Grafting

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a remarkable dental procedure that can pave the way for various restorative treatments, including dental implants, by strengthening and augmenting the jawbone. Bone grafting is a surgical procedure in which bone tissue is added to the jawbone to increase its volume, density, or strength. This technique is typically used to prepare the jaw for dental implants or to restore bone loss resulting from injury, infection, or tooth extraction.

Sinus Lift Surgery

Sinus lift surgery, also known as sinus augmentation, is a specialised dental procedure designed to create additional space in the upper jaw, specifically in the sinus area, to accommodate dental implants. It is a surgical procedure that increases the height and thickness of the bone in the upper jaw, particularly in the posterior region, where the sinuses are located. This added bone volume creates a stable foundation for dental implants, making it possible to replace missing teeth in areas that were previously considered challenging due to insufficient bone.

Extra Maxillary Implants (Zygomatic)

Extra Maxillary Implants (Zygomatic)

Zygomatic implants, also known as extra-maxillary implants, represent a groundbreaking solution for individuals with severe upper jaw bone loss or anatomical challenges that make traditional dental implant placement difficult. Zygomatic implants are long and robust dental implants designed to anchor securely in the zygomatic bone (cheekbone) instead of the upper jawbone. These implants provide a stable foundation for the attachment of dental prosthetics, even in cases where traditional implants may not be feasible due to inadequate bone volume or density.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting a dental implant hurt?

No. The implant is placed under local anaesthetic, so the area is completely numb throughout the procedure — you won’t feel the implant being placed. The jawbone itself also has very few pain-sensing nerve endings, which is why most patients find having an implant more comfortable. Afterward you may notice mild soreness for a few days, easily managed with painkillers, and for nervous patients our Enjoyable Dentistry Technique (EDT), Happy Air and guided meditation keep you calm and relaxed from start to finish. EDT is included as complimentary should you wish for it.

We use Straumann implants — the Swiss-made system widely regarded as the gold standard in implant dentistry. Straumann is backed by decades of clinical research and one of the strongest long-term success records of any implant brand, which means greater reliability, predictable healing, and a system that can be recognised and serviced by specialists worldwide. When you’re investing in implants, the quality of the components matters as much as the surgery.
Yes — your initial dental implant consultation at Twoth is complimentary. You’ll meet our team, have your options explained clearly, and receive a personalised treatment plan and quote with no obligation, including a 3D iTero digital scan of your teeth — a quick, comfortable scan with no messy impressions that lets us show you your options on screen. For more complex cases, you also have the option to see our Specialist Oral Surgeon, Mr Alaa Aldaadaa, for an in-depth surgical assessment. Mr Aldaadaa is a GDC-registered Specialist Oral Surgeon and clinical academic, and one of only a handful of surgeons in the UK with triple higher training — a PhD, a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Oral Surgery (MOralSurg) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Certificate in Implant Dentistry. Trained at Barts & The Royal London Hospitals and the world-renowned UCL Eastman Dental Institute, he specialises in advanced implantology, bone augmentation and complex cases — so even the most difficult situations can be handled in-house to a specialist standard.
Absolutely, and this is where Twoth is different. Implant treatment is delivered using our Enjoyable Dentistry Technique (EDT) — including Happy Air and guided meditation — designed specifically for nervous and phobic patients. Many of our implant patients had avoided treatment for years out of fear; our approach lets them get the teeth they need calmly and at their own pace.
A single dental implant at Twoth starts from £1200, using premium Straumann components, with the final cost depending on bone grafting, the crown type, and the number of teeth replaced. For complex cases, a CBCT scan may be needed for precise planning, charged at £150. A CBCT (Cone Beam CT) scan is a specialised 3D X-ray that captures a detailed image of your jawbone, nerves and sinuses in seconds, allowing us to plan your implant with pinpoint accuracy and place it safely. We offer 0% payment plans upto 60 months to spread the cost, and your exact price is confirmed at your complimentary consultation.
With good hygiene and regular check-ups, implants can last 15–25 years or longer, and the titanium post is often a permanent solution. The Straumann system’s long-term track record is one reason we trust it for lasting results, typically only the crown on top may need replacing over time through normal wear.
Most healthy adults with one or more missing teeth are suitable. We assess your jawbone using our CBCT 3D scanner, and if bone volume is limited our Specialist Oral Surgeon, Mr Alaa Aldaadaa, can discuss options such as bone grafting or zygomatic implants — so being told “no” elsewhere doesn’t necessarily mean no here.
Twoth is a CQC-registered clinic on St John’s Wood High Street, Highly Commended for Best Patient Care in London, with over 275 Google reviews and thousands of happy patients. We bring together a complimentary initial consultation, an in-house Specialist Oral Surgeon for complex cases, premium Straumann implants, advanced 3D CBCT and iTero scanning, 0% payment plans, and our Enjoyable Dentistry Technique for nervous patients — serving NW8, Maida Vale, Primrose Hill, Marylebone and surrounding areas.
